FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We invite you to RSVP online by 1st September 2025.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation did not already include a plus one, please reach out to the bride or bride's family.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Traditional or semi-formal attire is encouraged.

Question

I have a food allergy or dietary restriction.

Answer

Please include your dietary restrictions in your RSVP, or reach out to the bride/bride's family. We want you to feel comfortable and well fed!

Question

Is there parking available at the venue?

Answer

There will be a designated parking area nearby with personnel on standby to guide drivers. However, there are limited spaces, so we recommend taking a Grab or carpooling to the wedding venue.

Question

What time should I arrive at the reception?

Answer

The doors to the venue will open 30 minutes ahead of our reception time at 11:30 AM. We recommend arriving at the ceremony venue at least 15 minutes ahead of the start time to ensure you have enough time to walk to the venue from the parking area (if you are driving) and find your assigned seat before the arrival of the bride and groom and the start of cultural performances.

Question

What time will the reception end? Is there an after-party?

Answer

Our reception will end around 2:30PM. While there will be no after-party, we warmly invite our out-of-town guests to join us for brunch and a beach hangout the day after our wedding. More details to follow closer to the event date.

Question

Are there any cultural traditions or best practices I should be aware of?

Answer

While both the bride and groom have been blessed with rich multicultural backgrounds, the wedding reception will be primarily influenced by Malay culture. Malay wedding culture celebrates the newlyweds as raja sehari (royalty for the day), with the pelamin (wedding dais) resembling thrones upon which the bride and groom sit during the reception. There, they receive blessings from their elders through the merenjis ritual and watch cultural performances held in their honour. Although traditionally there is no dance floor during the reception, guests are more than welcome to boogie to their hearts' content after the wedding customs are finished. Kindly note that this is a dry wedding, i.e. there will be no alcohol served at the venue.

Question

Could you suggest places to visit while I'm in town for the wedding?

Answer

Check out the "Things to Do" section of our website to see some top spots to explore in Penang.

Question

I have more questions about the wedding. Who can I contact?

Answer

Feel free to reach out to the bride or bride's family.
