Question

When is the RSVP Deadline? And how do I do it?

Answer

Please sign in with your email and RSVP online in the RSVP section by the date indicated in your email invite as soon as possible. You cannot last minute RSVP 3 weeks from the wedding.

Can I bring a plus one? How about my kids?

Answer

Please sign in with your name in the RSVP section to see who all in your party is invited (or if you've already received your invite, check the envelope to see who it was addressed to) - we tried to be as specific as possible! Most kids are not invited to the wedding/reception, unless they are close family members. If you have kids invited to and attending the Reception, their names will be listed in the RSVP section. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Booking Travel & Transportation

Please visit the Travel tab of our website and make sure to book your hotel room in our room block link at the discounted rate. If you're from out of of town and are planning to fly into Detroit to come for any of the wedding events, please coordinate either with Sarada Reddy (bride's side) or Deb McMurray (groom's side). Airport: Detroit Metro Airport Transport: We suggest taking ubers or lyfts from the airport to your hotel in Ypsilanti, or the place that has been pre-arranged for you by your relatives. If you rent a car, please let your relatives know, so they do not have to arrange any transportation for you. We suggest booking both your flights and hotel rooms ASAP, as prices may rise, and special room rates may expire. You can see all hotel options on the hotel tab of this website.

We all know that Indian Standard Time (IST) exists, but if you're especially a part of the family or close friends - be on time to all wedding events! For the important events, this is the one time we all need to be punctual, as events will start with or without you!

What should I wear?

Haldi: Haldi ceremonies are known for their lively and colorful atmosphere. Opt for outfits in bright and cheerful colors like yellow, orange, pink, or red to match the festive spirit. Traditional Indian attire is a great choice. Consider wearing a saree, lehenga, or salwar kameez. Sangeet: The Sangeet is a night of music, dancing, and entertainment. You can choose Indian or Western semi-formal attire. Women can wear elegant cocktail dresses, Indo-Western fusion outfits, or even a stylish saree. Men can opt for tailored suits, blazers with trousers, or a traditional kurta pyjama. Baarat / Hindu Ceremony: The Baraat is the groom's procession, where he arrives at the wedding venue accompanied by his family and friends, often dancing and celebrating along the way. The wedding ceremony is a formal and sacred event. For these occasions, it's best to lean towards traditional Indian attire. Women can wear sarees, which are long, draped garments, or opt for lehengas, which consist of a long skirt paired with a crop top or blouse. Salwar kameez, which is a tunic paired with loose-fitting pants, is also a suitable option. Men can choose traditional sherwanis, which are long coats often worn with a kurta (long shirt) and pajama (loose-fitting pants), or they can opt for kurta pyjamas with a matching jacket or waistcoat. Western Ceremony / Cocktail Hour / Reception: The reception is a festive event, similar to a Western wedding reception. Women can wear cocktail dresses or Indian attire, choosing colors that complement the celebratory atmosphere. Men can wear Western-style suits or tuxedos. It's best to avoid wearing white at any wedding event. Remember to embrace the colorful and joyful spirit of the events. Please avoid wearing black to the wedding events with the exception of the Cocktail Hour / Reception.
