Our story began early in 2023. We met while playing an online video game. What initially began as comments in passing shortly turned into frequent party chats and daily phone calls.

We officially met in person on July 12, 2024 when David went to the United States for 2 weeks to meet Alyssa (yes, this was after a video call. Neither of us wanted to be catfished!). We explored Chicago and experienced deep dish pizza, traveled to Nashville where David found his beloved cowboy hat, and then onto Gatlinburg where the romance officially began on July 22, 2024.

We both knew after Dave’s first trip that there was something special between us. Alyssa’s first trip out of the United States only confirmed this. We went to Wisconsin Dells during Dave’s 2nd trip to America. While talking about dinner ideas on our first night in the Dells, Dave got up and went to the bedroom of the condo we were staying in. After a couple of minutes, he asked Alyssa to come back to the room. “I love you,” he said as he hugged Alyssa. Alyssa thought this was a silly game when he followed up with, “No, I really love you.” He took out the ring box and proceeded to get down on one knee where he popped the question!
