Question

Can we bring the kiddos?

Answer

We ADORE all of the littles in our lives - since there are so many of them, though (lucky problem to have!?) the only kiddos involved in our wedding weekend are those in the wedding itself: our nieces & nephew. Thank you for understanding!

Question

What's the vibe?

Answer

Formal attire, but definitely no need for black tie/ tuxes. This means suits/ jackets for gents (for our proud few who have served, military service dress, please!) For ladies, long/ mid-length dresses - the club is on the water and gets very breezy so plan for a cool September evening, but no sand/grass involved, so heels are fair game.

Question

Will there be transportation on wedding day?

Answer

Yes! Bay Head is *entirely* walkable from end to end, so you're totally free to stroll to/from the wedding if you'd like, but we'll also have an old-fashioned trolley making a few stops through town for pick-up and drop-off at BHYC (stay tuned closer to the day for the pick-up schedule/timing). After the wedding, we'll load back onto the trolleys for drop-off to the after party. There will then be one final shuttle back to the hotels around midnight for any early birds (Mom and Dad, you're staying 'til last call, don't even think about it). For everyone else who stays to celebrate 'til late, walking or Ubering back are both easy.

Question

Are wedding weekend events all nearby?

Answer

You bet - Bay Head is only 1-mile square and everything throughout the weekend takes place in town. If you have bikes, 100% bring them! Once you arrive for the weekend, you won't need the car again.

Question

Can I hit the beach before/in- between weekend events?

Answer

Yes! September is absolutely MAGICAL beach weather at the shore, so definitely try to come early to enjoy some of the best beach days of the year. Lucky for you, 'private' beach season ends Labor Day, so by the time you arrive to town, you can stroll right onto any of the local beaches in Bay Head and Mantoloking (quieter, zero tourists, and each street leads to a beach entrance at the end), or in Pt. Pleasant (for more of the Jersey Shore boardwalk scene you've probably envisioned - rides, games, bars on the sand, etc. - if you're going this route, you MUST go for a drink... and some people watching... at Martell's Tiki bar!) We'd LOVE for people arriving early (Thursday/Friday) to gather for a beach day(s), so we'll communicate closer to the time if there's a gang that will be collecting at a certain beach. Pro tip, if you really want to live the Smith/Harris experience - Osborne Beach, Bay Head - that's where the magic's at :)

Question

Are we counting down the milliseconds?

Answer

YES.
