Dating during a global pandemic is hard, but thankfully Hinge was around to connect us! Thomas suggested a corn maze for a first date and Kelli agreed to get in his car and drive 90 minutes away to an isolated corn field. Now this only sounds creepy if this does not end in an engagement, SPOILER... It does! After setting a record time at the maze, we headed to Fat Bottom Brewery to grab dinner. We discussed our lives in detail and saw enough of a glimpse to get to where we are today!

After planning with the Burke family the perfect engagement, it was the day to finally pop the question. We drove to Gainesville, GA to Kelli's parent's house for the weekend. Her mom told her to be dressed, because we are going to a birthday dinner for Kelli and were leaving as soon as we got there. The whole drive down, Kelli was under the impression that this weekend, Thomas was going to ask for permission. Thomas remained nervous and sweating up a storm the whole 5 hour drive. Kelli made a comment, "I will for sure know when you are going to propose because of how weird you are acting". Thomas had an internal smug smile as she had absolutely no idea what was about to happen. Arriving at the house, we were tasked with getting a bag of ice from the gazebo for the boat activities tomorrow before "heading to dinner". As we walked to the gazebo, Thomas pointed out the flowers on the ground and said "what is that?" to which Kelli responded "probably a funeral or something, they do weird stuff like that all the time". Thomas insisted we check it out. Walking a row filled with rose petals to a table set up beautifully with pictures of us and flowers, Thomas got down on his knee and surprised Kelli completely before presenting the ring. She said YES!
