Maid of Honor
Tylar and Shaye have spent many different phases of life laughing, learning, and growing together. Tylar attended Southern Fulton with Shaye, graduating just one year earlier. After attending Penn State Altoona for the first two years of college Tylar transferred to Penn State Main Campus, reuniting with Shaye and sharing an apartment before graduating from the College of Liberal Arts in Labor and Employment Relations. Tylar and her now fiancé, Skyler, began dating just shortly before Shaye and Kahlil met and the two couples hit it off instantly. Kahlil and Skyler often reminisce on high school days when they played each other in basketball while Kahlil attended Mount Union and Skyler, West Branch. While most friends tend to separate after meeting someone, Tylar and Shaye grew even closer and have made lots of memories vacationing together and meeting up in State College for Penn State Football. Tylar and Skyler reside Georgetown, Delaware with their beloved dog, Kona!
Bridesmaid
Shaye and Mackenzie often joke that they are soul sisters. Mackenzie attended Penn State for Accounting and was involved in Women in Business (WIB), serving as the THON Director in 2016. Shaye was also involved in WIB, but not until 2017 when she signed up to participate in a Penn State WIB THON canvasing trip, where 8+ girls drove from campus to a host destination to solicit donations for the cause. Shaye was assigned to go to the Washington, D.C. area- the location that Mackenzie was hosting. After the trip, Mackenzie and Shaye kept in touch over social media, but after graduating Penn State and moving to the D.C. area, Shaye reached out to Mackenzie to reunite. The rest, as they say, is history! Mackenzie and Shaye were inseparable living just 15 minutes from each other, often found catching up (every week) for appetizers and drinks at various spots around the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. Mackenzie often jokes that she is the perfect third wheel to Shaye and Kahlil sharing their love for sports (and adding a couple extra professional sports teams to arguments- the Golden State Warriors and the Buffalo Bills) and especially Penn State! Mackenzie currently resides in Arlington, Virginia and is a proud aunt to her nephew, Fitz!
Bridesmaid
It doesn't go any further back than Lakyn and Shaye! A friendly interaction during recess in Kindergarten was the start of a lifelong bond between the two. There weren't many times you could find Shaye without Lakyn. As if school days and extracurricular activities weren't enough time spent together, the two often begged their parents for sleep overs and to this day the Morton's home phone number is one of three landline numbers Shaye still has memorized. It didn't take long for Lakyn's family to feel like Shaye's family, and vice versa. Lakyn even lived with Shaye's mother, Karen, while attending school in Harrisburg! Lakyn resides with her fiancé, Cody, in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia and is a proud aunt of three nephews and a niece.
Bridesmaid
Shaye and Eriel, one of Kahlil's sisters, met in late 2018 when Shaye attended Eriel's holiday basketball tournament with Kahlil over Christmas break. Kahlil raved about Eriel and her bright & cheerful personality and love for early 2000's music, so naturally after meeting, Shaye and Eriel clicked! Nearly 7 years later and the two truly consider each other sisters and look forward to a lifetime of shared family dinners, laughs, and more time spent together. Eriel currently resides with her boyfriend, Ethan, in Mount Union, Pennsylvania and is currently taking classes to pursue a future career in nursing.
Best Man
Kole and Kahlil have been kicking it for as long as each one can remember. The two’s friendship started early, competing against each other at a young age in youth sports in Mount Union. Throughout high school, Kole and Kahlil were good friends but bonded even more while attending Penn State where they roomed together for nearly three years. Following college graduation when Shaye and Kahlil moved to the Northern Virginia area, Kole relocated there as well and the two deepened their brotherhood, leading Kahlil to ask Kole to be his best man. Kole currently resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his dog, Deebo, and holds a career in business consulting.
Groomsman
Johnny, or Uncle Johnny, was born just a few years prior to Kahlil and has always acted as an older brother to him. In that big brother role, Johnny has always been supportive and encouraging to Kahlil, always present in the most valued moments of his life. The two have shared a lot of time together discovering UFOs, indulging in sports conversations, and hanging out at backyard cookouts. Johnny currently resides in York, Pennsylvania with his daughter, Aubrieonna, and enjoys his career in engineering.
Groomsman
Kevin, Kahlil's cousin, has truly spent a lifetime with Kahlil. From since they were little, Kevin and Kahlil have always found things to fight about as young boys do. But through their fighting, they discovered just how much they have in common with each other and a newfound appreciation for their differences. Kahlil always credits his conversations with Kevin to the creation of his beloved small business, SKILLZ Training, as Kevin fully endorsed Kahlil's ideas and dreams for this endeavor. Kevin and his wife, Anastasia, currently reside in Tyrone, Pennsylvania with their two adorable children, King and Naomi. Kevin serves in the United States Army and is pursuing a degree in nursing from Penn State.
Groomsman
Damon is Kahlil's first cousin and the two have spent much of their life together. Growing up, the two would have WWE matches on the trampoline, we’re known as the “Fortson duo” on the basketball court, and even broke a window or two playing baseball in Kahlil’s backyard. Damon and Kahlil share regular FaceTime calls and Call of Duty games which keep the two close and allow them time to catch up on life on regular basis.
