Kyle and I met at a close family friend’s wedding! Oddly enough, our paths had never crossed before this. We reflect back on this quite often and have come to the conclusion that we were both at the right place, at the right time and the quote “everything happens for a reason” has proven to be true! While we were tearing up the dance floor at the wedding, Kyle asked around to mutual close friends who told him he needed to talk to me, and we’d be a perfect match! All night I can remember Kyle always being 2 steps behind me watching my every move, nervous to talk to me! After many (maybe too many drinks), Kyle mustered up the courage talk to me, he asked me where I went to school and, to no surprise, I responded and said, “I don’t go to school, I already graduated” and, as Kyle explains it to this day, I flipped my hair and walked away. My attitude did not stop his determination to talk to me, he waited for his perfect moment and stopped me in my tracks as I exited the bathroom. He immediately struck up a conversation and we ended up spending a majority of the reception outside chatting with each other. I vividly remember my mom having to tell me multiple times it was time to leave but not before we exchanged contact information! We owe it all to our wonderful friends Cheri & Kenny Eick and Marisa & Jake Anderson! Your love (and Cherri’s wing women skills) brought us together and we could not be more grateful! I’d like to say the rest is history but we’ve had so many fantastic memories the last 4 years together so, here’s to continuing this wonderful life we have built together as a MARRIED couple!! We are so over the moon excited to start this next chapter of our beautiful life!
Every year we take a family Christmas card picture and this usually ends with us outside at the last minute in the freezing cold taking a family photo. When Kyle came into the picture, literally and figuratively, he would also be tortured outside in the cold but, not this year! Kyle had created a plan that everyone seemed to know about.. well besides me, that we would take a family Christmas card picture in the summer at my parents house this year. It worked out perfectly that on Sunday we were also celebrating my Grandpa’s birthday and my birthday. Which meant that the entire family was over! So of course, my mom asked me more than enough times to “wear something halfway decent” to their house on Sunday so we could capture the moment perfectly. (And so I wouldn’t be in an oversized t-shirt and biker shorts for our engagement pictures… Thanks mom!!). My suspicions were growing by the minute when Kyle redirected my hand when I would touch his back or when he seemed to “run away from me” when we were making our way down to the dock. Little did I know he had the ring in his pocket!! We took a family picture, my parents took their couple picture and it was time for Kyle and I to take ours. I did find it kind of strange that all of my family members had their phones out! Kyle distracted me by saying “look over there” and before I knew it I was turned back around and he was already on his knee blurting out “Will You Marry Me?” It was truly the most amazing moment and I knew the day that I met him we would be something special! We want to thank both of our wonderful families for your support over the years and we can not wait to celebrate with everyone! Cheers to forever!!
