While some may consider Valentine’s Day to be filled with romance, the Valentine’s Day we met on was filled with friends, mattress surfing, and singing country music until 3 AM. Our Matron of Honor, Megan, introduced us at the famous Jayhawk Cafe and the night kicked off from there. We bounced from one house to the next, down good Ole Tennessee street, laughing and causing trouble along the way. Even though this college night was one both us will always remember, we left the evening as friendly acquaintances. It wasn’t until two summers later that we would find that spark and start dating.
On the *almost* anniversary of our sixth year of dating, we were visiting our friends Marshall and Johanna in New York. We had a wonderful day playing games and having a picnic with friends on the Hudson River. A group of us had planned to go to dinner at The Consulate near Central Park. Before dinner the group decided to walk through the park, specifically Shakespeare’s Garden. In the middle of the garden, without a single tourist or New Yorker in sight, Matt popped the question. We celebrated with a delicious dinner and drinks with friends. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you all in KC!
