Brigtsen’s Restaurant- $$$ - One our favorite's for a nice date night. Reservations recommended Cafe Du Monde- $ - A favorite of locals and tourists alike. You will spill powdered sugar, that's part of the fun- Don't rub your clothes to get it out. Clancy’s Restaurant- $$$ - An uptown local gem. Jackets encouraged Commander’s Palace- $$$ - A classy New Orleans dining experience. Highly recommend the bread pudding soufflé. Jackets & reservations required. Company Burger- $$ - Great spot to grab a juicy burger or sandwich Dat Dog- $$ - Not your average hot dog spot. We recommend the Cheddar Bacon Ranch fries. Drago’s- $$ - Home of the Charbroiled Oyster. If you've been scared to try oysters, charbroiled is a great gateway option. Allison took her first steps at the Metairie location. Galatoire's- $$$ - Excellent menu, Friday lunches at Galatoire's are a local tradition. The 209 over ice is our favorite cocktail. Try the soufflé potatoes. Jackets & Reservations required.
Hansen’s Sno-Bliz- $ - Be prepared to wait in line but if you want to try a famous NOLA Snowball, this is one of the classics. Luke- $$ -Great seafood menu, We love the brussels sprouts! Meril- $$ - Emeril's newest restaurant. We recommend ordering a couple of things and splitting them. Parkway Bakery & Tavern- $$ - One of our favorite po-boy stops. Pascal’s Manale- $$ - Home of BBQ Shrimp Rock-N-Sake- $$ - Fun, loud atmosphere & excellent sushi with lots of creative options Rum House- $$ - Caribbean inspired menu, we love the "Damn Good Nachos" Superior Grill- $$ - Our favorite (and strongest) margaritas! Happy Hour 3:30-6:00 daily Superior Seafood- $$ - Sister restaurant to Superior Grill and a great spot for a sampling of some local flavors. The frozen pomegranate mojito hits the spot on a hot day. Vincent’s Italian Cuisine- $$ - Our favorite Italian spot in the city. Get the corn & crab bisque in a bread bowl and thank us later.
Ale/Oak- Something for everyone- beer at Ale, wine at Oak with a courtyard in the middle. Bakery Bar- One of our go-to spots when we started dating. Drinks & dessert, Try a slice of doberge cake or a couple dobites, if you can't pick just one flavor. Barcadia- Sports bar with arcade games. Pretty good bar food, If you need a snack Carousel Bar- A New Orleans classic, located in the Monteleone Hotel- The bar is a beautiful rotating carousel Cooter Brown’s- Low key spot with lots of TVs, oysters and a good food menu Cure- An upscale cocktail bar. Incredible selection and very talented bartenders. The District- Feels like a neighborhood bar, great place to watch a game. More low key than some of their neighbors Frenchmen- Stroll down Frenchman Street to find live music and local art Gold Mine- Has been around for decades and one of our guilty pleasure favorites . Most fun late at night, famous for their flaming Dr. Peppers. Cash encouraged
Hot Tin- High end hotel rooftop bar on top of the Pontchartrain Hotel. Beautiful view of the city Lucy’s- Centrally-located beach themed bar Pat O'Brien's- Home of the dueling pianos and Hurricanes. Wait in line for the dueling pianos- it's absolutely worth it. The Sazerac Bar- Located in the beautiful Roosevelt Hotel and named after the first mixed-drink, the Sazerac Tchoup Yard- Feels like a big backyard bar. Good beer selection and plenty of seating Tipitina's- A New Orleans live music staple. Check their social media for information on Free Concert Fridays, one of their summer promotions. Urban South- Local brewery. Think picnic tables and concrete floors but some of our favorite local beers W.I.N.O.- Perfect way to try some new wines. You get a card and swipe as you pour. Wrong Iron- Similar to Tchoup Yard, Feels like a backyard bar. A local go-to to watch the game
Audubon Aquarium of the Americas Audubon Zoo City Putt Miniature Golf- This is where we had our first date! Fulton Alley- A fun spot if you want to check out an upscale bowling alley Harrah’s New Orleans Magazine Street- Take a walk or drive to explore some of the local businesses. Mardi Gras World- Book a tour to see the magic and artistry that goes into the parades. National WWII Museum- The museum is incredible (and huge). Skip the LA Memorial Pavilion, you can explore it during the reception. Ride the Streetcar- This is a perfect way to see the city and appreciate the beautiful architecture, especially on St. Charles Ave. One way fare is $1.25 (have exact change ready) or you can download the RTA app to purchase a "Jazzy Pass". Steamboat Natchez- Take a ride on the famous steamboat on the Mississippi River. Look out for one of the Bisso Tugboats on the River, they are the ones with the black and yellow smokestacks.
