Kaity and Taylor met through friends while at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Those friends not so subtly nudged them into a first date by bailing on what was supposed to be a group outing. After one of Kaity’s softball games, they met up for ice cream. In Buckhannon, WV, the options for ice cream are limited, especially at 8pm. After discovering Dairy Queen and Dairy King were closed, they resorted to the only other option: McDonald’s. Taylor ordered a shamrock shake and Kaity ordered an M&M McFlurry. Since that night, ice cream has continued to be a staple (and a weakness) of their relationship.

Taylor casually suggested a local wine bar with a beautiful outdoor setting for the routine Saturday night outing in the Ville. After selecting their wines, Taylor secretly recruited a couple to capture the moment with his phone and popped the question. Kaity wasn’t sure how to answer at first (wink wink) but came to the conclusion that her answer was yes! The newly engaged couple then continued the night with a meal and ice cream to celebrate.
