It's a long story...

...with many chapters to come.

Who would have thought that a chance encounter via a mutual high school friend would bring us to where we are now, 20 years later!? We met on the bridge over the Boardman River in Traverse City during the National Cherry Festival. It was a brief encounter, but Meg remembers it pretty vividly. Months later we met again while bowling with friends (remember glow bowling?!) and this is where the digits were first exchanged. We dated off and on while Meg finished up her junior and senior years in high school and Skyler attended Northwestern Michigan College. Upon graduating from high school, Meg decided she had to get the heck out of TC and move onto to bigger and better things and attend the University of Tennessee. Unfortunately that meant letting go of her small town boyfriend. Skyler headed to Grand Rapids, and Grand Valley State the same year. We kept in touch off and on over the years, even visited each others respective campuses and met up while back in TC. Eventually, life got a hold of us and landed us in serious relationships. We didn't talk for many years, but always wished each other well. Things were never right for either of us in our relationships, and when Meg's last name changed back to "Frederick" on Facebook, Sky was sweet and checked in on her. A year later, out of the blue, Skyler messaged Meg to see how she was doing and see if she had any advice, as Sky was going through a difficult transition with his own divorce. We ended up calling each other and hit it off right away, we breezed through a two-hour conversation! We had several phone dates after that and 6 months later, Meg made the move back to Michigan to be closer to family and closer to Sky. After 8 months in Detroit, it was still too far from Sky and in Dec. 2017 Meg moved to Grand Rapids, along with the fur babies, Mabel and Boo. Sky asked Meg to marry him on July 28th at the Charlevoix Venetian Festival during the fireworks aboard his parent's boat, Kismet- "Meant to Be" Yes, yes it is!
