How will I get from the airport to Elizabethtown?

Answer

We recommend renting a car from the airport and keeping it for the duration of your stay. You can also coordinate with those who may be traveling around the same time as you and staying near you so that you may share a vehicle. Keep in mind that there is no public transit. There is a taxi service and some Uber availability in Elizabethtown.

Possiamo anche darvi una mano a coordinarvi con altri viaggiatori nel caso preferiate condividere un veicolo con chi soggiorna nel vostro stesso hotel. Vi ricordiamo che non esiste un sistema di trasporto pubblico a Elizabethtown. Se non volete guidare avrete la possibilità di prenotare un taxi o utilizzare Uber/Lyft (disponibilità limitata).

Will there be transportation provided to the wedding if I don't want to drive?

Answer

We will provide buses to and from the rehearsal dinner and the wedding should you choose to use them. The busses will depart from the Hampton Inn. If you are not staying at the Hampton Inn, you can drive to the hotel, leave your car, and take the bus to the event and back. There little to no Uber service in Elizabethtown. We will also suggest a cab service if you prefer an option that picks you up and drops you off directly at your location. You can find cab information in the "Travel" tab.

Answer

Nel caso siate interessati, metteremo a vostra disposizione un autobus per rehearsal dinner e matrimonio. L’autobus partirà dal parcheggio dell’albergo Hampton Inn. Nel caso non abbiate una stanza all’Hampton Inn, potete guidare fino all’albergo e lasciare la vostra macchina nel parcheggio, per poi salire sull’autobus. Il servizio Uber/Lyft nella zona di Elizabethtown è piuttosto limitato. Nel caso vogliate un servizio più diretto dal vostro albergo/AirBnb vi possiamo suggerire delle compagnie di taxi locali.

Where should I stay?

Answer

We have blocked off rooms at the Hampton Inn Elizabethtown that you can book at a discounted rate. You can find the link to book within the "Travel" tab. There are a couple nicer hotels, Springhill Suites by Marriott as well as Hilton Garden Inn, and also some budget hotels. You are welcome to look for other hotels or AirBnBs. We recommend staying in Elizabethtown, Vine Grove, Radcliff, or Glendale. There is also Bardstown--a charming, small town about 30 minutes away.

How should I dress?

Answer

We suggest semi-formal or cocktail attire. Men can wear a suit or dress pants and a button up. Women can wear a gown or maxi dress, knee-length cocktail dress or midi dress, or dressy separates. Keep in mind that our wedding will take place outdoors but in mostly shaded areas. We will be on the grass for a large portion of the evening.

Una mezza via tra comodo ed elegante. Il matrimonio avverrà di pomeriggio/sera, ma dato il caldo clima estivo assicuratevi di essere a vostro agio per una festa all'aperto. Pantaloni e camicia vanno benissimo per i ragazzi.

Kentucky is hot and humid in the summer. Be warned! Our wedding will take place outdoors but in mostly shaded areas.

Com'è il clima in Kentucky?

In estate c'è un gran caldo e molta umidità. Anche più umidità che in Polesine (senza le zanzare)! Ma siete avvisati: agli americani piace molto l'aria condizionata. Preparatevi per una estrema escursione termica tra esterni ed interni. Il giorno del matrimonio, comunque, i festeggiamenti avverranno principalmente all'esterno.

What if it rains?

Answer

If it rains, the wedding will take place in the barn (enclosed) instead of in the garden. We will have dinner under a tent and the reception back in the barn. Bring an umbrella and rain jacket just in case. We should have some umbrellas to provide but perhaps not enough for everyone.

E se piove?

Answer

Nel caso in cui piova, il matrimonio avrà luogo all’interno del ‘fienile’ invece che nel giardino. La cena si svolgerà sotto un tendone e le altre attività all’interno del fienile. Vi consigliamo di portare un ombrello ed un impermeabile, per essere pronti ad ogni evenienza. Dovremmo avere alcuni ombrelli da distribuire agli invitati ma probabilmente non abbastanza per tutti.
