Our story didn’t start with a movie-style meet-cute—it started in the classroom. We were in the same grade 10 class, sharing Maths and Afrikaans, but we weren’t friends…yet. From the start, I had a little crush on Kyle and tried (unsuccessfully) to strike up conversations. I even tried to “borrow” his math notes—only to discover he didn’t even have any! Kyle was shy and not really into school, so our early attempts at talking were…well, a little tricky. Our first real meeting happened at a house party he hosted on September 11, 2020. That’s when we finally talked, laughed, and started noticing each other for real. By December 15, 2020, we officially started dating. Kyle asked me to be his girlfriend during a weekend at the Vaal River with friends—a mix of nerves, fishing, swimming, and unforgettable memories. From the very beginning, something about us just clicked. Shy smiles and awkward conversations quickly turned into laughter, adventures, and a connection that felt effortless and special. Looking back, from classroom beginnings to river-side adventures, it’s clear our story was always meant to be.

On 30 August 2025, Kyle surprised me with a moment I’ll never forget—at the very place where we’ll soon say “I do,” Dunkeld Country & Equestrian Estate, Dullstroom. He asked if I wanted to go for a walk, and, unknowingly, I happily agreed, sipping my whiskey and Sprite while we chatted about absolute nonsense along the way. I did notice he was a little quieter than usual, but I had no idea what was about to happen. As the sun began to set over the mountains, we sat at a table on the deck, surrounded by breathtaking views and complete privacy. Kyle mounted his phone on the table to take a photo of us—and then, in the most perfect moment, he went down on one knee. My heart skipped a beat, tears of joy welled up, and I was completely overwhelmed by surprise, excitement, and emotion all at once. Kyle isn’t a man of many words, but when he asked me to marry him, it was perfect—simple, genuine, and exactly us. That magical moment marked the next chapter of our story, one filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures still to come.
