WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!

Bryton and Skye first met in high school at the end of Bryton's senior year and Skye's junior year. The first day of that last semester, Skye walked into her AP Environmental Science class where Bryton was already seated. Skye saw a friend seated two seats behind Bryton, and eagerly took the seat between them. As the semester went on, Skye and Bryton got to know each other and laughed together almost every day, and even learned they lived across the street from each other all these years. On the last day of school, Bryton was able to grab Skye’s snapchat so they could stay in contact after he graduated. As Bryton graduated and summer came, they didn’t talk much, and Bryton soon went off to college at Iowa State University. In November of his first semester of college, their high school football team made it to the state championship, so Bryton and a few friends went to support their alma mater and Skye was there cheering on the Cougars. During half time, they randomly ran into each other in a stadium of thousands of people and started snapchatting each other to catch up. Their texting didn’t stop that whole week until Bryton asked Skye to go Black Friday shopping on Thanksgiving night. It was like they knew each other for years and talked till 3 am when Bryton asked Skye if he could take her on a real date the next night. She said of course and on November 27th, 2015 they officially started dating. Bryton went to college almost 2 hours away from their hometown, so they drove to see each other every single weekend for a year and a half, until Skye transferred to Iowa State. They spent their next 2 years making everlasting memories with each other and their amazing friends, until Bryton graduated college in December of 2018. Shortly after, Bryton accepted a job in Austin, Texas and Skye was very excited to come along for the journey. They've now been together for 4 happy years and added a little fur baby to the family - their puppy German Shepherd, Jag!

After months of planning and preparing, Bryton proposed to Skye on November 8th, 2019, just a few weeks before their 4-year anniversary. Their best friends were in town so they made plans to go take pictures at their favorite scenic park in downtown Austin, just before dinner and drinks. While Bryton and Skye were taking pictures, Bryton pulled a little, rusted, metal ring out of his pocket and asked Skye if she remembered where it was from. Having been 4 years since she had seen it, Bryton explained that it was the little arcade ring that he won and fake proposed to Skye with on their first date. Skye thought she had lost it some time ago but Bryton had taken and kept it for 4 years, all the while knowing he would need it someday. He then knelt down on one knee and along with a well thought out proposal was a beautiful engagement ring Skye will cherish forever and of course said YES to!
