HOW WE MET English Class at East High School OUR FIRST DATE December 31st, 2015 First hang out would probably be a better term! He asked me out to coffee at Starbucks (which is funny because he hates coffee). CJ bought me a latte and gave me tickets to watch him play in the New Year’s Eve hockey game that night- I accepted. In return, I invited him to my New Year’s Eve party after the game, not thinking he would actually come, but he did! But only after me and my friends sent him on a wild goose chase to find pizza at midnight… he was unsuccessful. He came to the party in a suit (hockey player post-game attire). I was smitten by his efforts to find me pizza. After that night, he asked me out for a proper date - to the movies. WHEN WE STARTED DATING January 15th, 2016 We spent almost every day together after that New Year’s Eve party… my parents can attest - we were inseparable. CJ didn’t waste any time and asked me to be his girlfriend! THE PROPOSAL May 15th, 2021 We were celebrating CJ’s undergrad graduation with his family at our college house. We were having drinks in the front yard when, out of no where, I saw my family and friends start to walk over to us and that’s when it clicked… he’s proposing! I don’t remember much of what he said and I definitely stuck out the wrong hand for the ring, but looking back, it was so wonderful having all the people we love there to celebrate with us in that moment.
