Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail Attire: Wear cocktail dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, nice sundresses and dark jackets and slacks.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We've hired incredible photographers to capture the day! With that in mind, we'd love for all of our guests to put their phones/cameras away during the ceremony to allow the professionals to do their thing and for you to be able to be fully present with us!

Question

Your invitation says the tisch is at 3:30 - what's a tisch?

Answer

Tisch means table in Yiddish and refers to joyous singing around a table. Traditionally, it was only for the groom and other men, but Eliana and Aaron are having a tisch together. At the tisch, Aaron and Eliana will be surrounded by friends and loved ones, singing Jewish songs (words provided), especially wedding songs. Everyone is welcome - it will be loud though! We will then sign the ketubah (marriage contract) and there will be the bedeken, where Aaron veils Eliana. There will be light snacks and drinks available during the tisch. If this does not sound like it is for you, feel free to join later for the ketubah signing or just come at 4:30 for the ceremony.

Question

Will there be shtick? And what is shtick?

Answer

Shtick is when guests entertain the couple with quick dances, silliness, costumes, and inside jokes - often each segment lasting as short as just a few seconds. Anything goes as long as it keeps them entertained! For inside jokes, it's typical to make signs, bring props, wear costumes, or bring something that will make the bride and groom smile or laugh. Anyone is encouraged to participate, so please don't be shy and feel free to prepare a few seconds of something for shtick!

Question

How can I get to/from the airport and around Chicagoland?

Answer

Airport transportation – there are two companies that cover our area from both Midway and O'Hare. They have flat rates and need to be booked in advance American Taxi – 847-673-1000 https://www.americantaxi.com/ 303 Taxi – 847-303-0303 https://303taxi.com/ DO NOT take a Yellow or other Chicago taxi. You can of course take a rideshare as well. These can also be booked to get to/from our wedding and any of the Shabbat events. The hotel is walkable from the synagogue. There is public transit which can be paid for using any credit/debit card that taps to pay. Google Maps is one of the best ways to see when and where to catch a bus or train.
