Walk the Marginal Way

Walk the Marginal Way

The Marginal Way is a scenic, 1.25-mile paved cliff walk connecting Ogunquit Beach to Perkins Cove. Open year-round, this popular, free pedestrian path offers stunning ocean views, rocky coastlines, and 39 benches, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll or, in winter, a quieter, icy walk. It is fully paved, easily accessible for walking and strollers, and mostly flat with slight, gentle inclines. It offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, rugged cliffs, and shoreline homes. The walk connects the town's main beach/center to the historic, charming Perkins Cove. Note however that dogs are prohibited from April 1 to September 30. You can access it by walking from our Inn if the weather permits! Paid parking is also available at both ends: in Perkins Cove and at the Obed’s Lane/Shore Road lot. While the walk is generally easy, it is not maintained for snow or ice during the winter months.
