So who would've guessed, but the COVID-19 pandemic is still happening! And though we couldn't wait to get married, we believe we still have to wait a little while longer to hold our formal wedding reception. We want to make sure we only bring all of us together when it's 100% safe. We encourage everyone to do their part—get vaccinated, mask up, and follow federal guidelines as necessary—so we can all gather and celebrate in 2022. Thank you all for sticking with us over this long process. We are so excited to see every one of you next spring for our big celebration!
A friend tried to set the two of us up at a Marymount dance. It didn't go so well and not just because a high school dance isn't exactly romantic. Michael used a cheesy pick-up line he had practiced all week. Shannon immediately walked away. But we did get each other's numbers. A few texts here and there led to an everlasting bond—and to where we are now!
Shannon loves puzzles and Michael loves planning adventures, so a scavenger hunt was the perfect choice. The trip through Manhattan paid tribute to our home in New York as well as our time together at Boston College. Several of our bridesmaids and groomsmen were at each location, with letters Michael had written detailing why they marked a cornerstone of our location. The timing worked out perfectly...although Michael didn't add up the distance. But eight hours and 30,000+ steps later, Shannon said yes atop the Williamsburg Bridge: the site of their first date years ago.
Not even a pandemic could hold us down from getting married in 2020! Unfortunately, time limits for a marriage license almost did. We quickly planned "small" ceremony at Regis with just some of our closest friends and family to profess our love to one another and become legally wed late last year. That's allowed us to get psyched up for the big party in 2022!
