Charlotte's Finest

Erika

Maid of Honor

I’m not quite sure where to begin when I talk about Erika lol. Actually, I do! Erika and I met the summer before our Freshman year of college at UNC Charlotte. We were both “voluntold” by our parents that we’d be participating in an on-campus summer bridge program known as UTOP, in hopes of easing the transition from high school to college. Little did I know, just hours into move-in I’d meet the person whose name mine would be mixed up with by EVERYONE, for the next 4 years! In the best, least cringey way possible, Erika and I couldn’t be more attached! Her quick wit, chaotic energy, caring spirit, and unwillingness to take anything "too seriously" have manifested our lifelong sisterhood…whether we like it or not! Erika’s been present (either in person or via FaceTime) for the highest of highs like watching me get ready for a “fancy dinner” which she knew would be my engagement, and the lowest of lows like getting my first speeding ticket! She’s my first FaceTime each morning (often my wake up call when I oversleep for work), and the last person I’d want to duet a song with (lol if you know you know)! Erika, thanks for finally agreeing to be my MOH lol, even though we both know this wedding is for us hahah! P.S. You and X-Avier will NOT be taking digs at each other at the altar lol!

Zabria

Bridesmaid

Brazia!!!! Zabria is hands down the most foolish, loving, and arguably most insane person I know! Zabria and I go wayyyyy back, I’m talking early elementary school! Her dad has been my dad’s barber for the past 30+ years, which means we practically grew up together! Funny thing is, Zabria and I saw each other regularly on Saturday mornings at her dad’s shop, competed in K-5 soccer games, and attended the same middle and high school, yet our friendship truly didn’t manifest until college! Crazy right!? Similarly to Erika, UTOP was also the foundation that Zabria and I's friendship was built on...and the place where Zabria became my official hair braider! Outside of the joys of our friend group, Zabria and I share a hometown (#BullCity), a love for big dogs, and the ability to crack a joke ANY chance we get! As if her since of humor isn't already what makes you love her, Zabria is truly the MOST talented person I know! She's practically a genius, can sing you up and down any stage, braid to perfection, and a true fashion icon! Brazia, you're the only person I'd ever do a dryer sheet taste test with, and the only person I've ever been pulled over with! And for that, sweetie it's time to start choreographing our bridal dance, mamas getting married!!!

Brianna

Bridesmaid

Brisha! I love you! Bri is an all around great time! People often talk about the friend who will go to war for them, and that person is absolutely Bri! No questions asked! Bri and I met through Erika during our Freshman year of college at UNC Charlotte! Though Bri didn't do UTOP with Zabria, Erika, and I, it was clear she was a true ride or die type of friend when she made her way to visit Erika after only not seeing her for 2 weeks! I truly can't remember what it was like first meeting Bri, because I'm pretty confident we've be "Brisha and Ravie" from the moment we met in Erika's room! It's a running joke in our friend group that Bri is the one to cry at the drop of a hat (which is very much true), but it's true because that's just how loyal she is! Whether it's her students (did I mention Bri is my teacher bestie?!), her friends, her family, etc. Bri has an unwavering commitment to those who matter most! It truly doesn't get any better than that! Don't get me wrong though, Bri's heart of gold isn't her only selling point, Brisha is a true comedian! Unbeknownst to most, just a few of Bri's hidden talents include freestyle rapping, impromptu dancing, and high-pitch-impromptu singing hahah! Brisha, thank you for always putting our friendship first, and always being down for my foolishness! I'm getting marriedddddddd *High pitch squeal*

Sydney

Bridesmaid

SYDNEY!! Sydney and I have only been friends going on 4 years, but I swear I've known her my whole life! Sydney and I quickly bonded over our love/hate for our jobs as Resident Advisors back in college in 2020, which quickly erupted into our shared passion for True Crime...and Wine! When we should have been "managing" the halls of Wallis Hall, Sydney and I very frequently found ourselves bundled up on my couch screaming at the TV solving murders that happened decades before our time, obviously with a wine glass in hand! Little did either of us know, Wine & Crime would become just a minor piece of evidence in the cold case that would become our lifelong friendship! Aside from being a literal genius (y'all she's in LAW SCHOOL), Sydney's ALWAYS down for a night of fun, yet will be the first on the couch (with snacks in hand) for a chill night in! Of the many things to love about Sydney, one that I love most is that we're ALWAYS aligned! Whether it's intentionally underdressing for work, or mutually agreeing to run out of Waffle House at 1 AM because weapons were pulled (not on us, thank God!), there's never been a day I had to question Sydney's loyalty or intentions! Sydney, who would've thought after only seeing each other in person twice in the last 2 years, the 3rd time would be at my wedding?!?

Mike

Bridesman

Affectionately known as "Uncle Mike", Mike and I met in college through Erika, and quickly bonded over our quick wit, and inherent ability to make any and every moment sentimental. The peak of our friendship was during our Senior Year at UNC Charlotte, working as Resident Advisors. Despite the few highs and several lows of the job, Mike and I found solace in romanticizing every ounce of each day as a way to combat the raging "Senioritis" as we both prepared to move to our *sigh* new homes *soft smile*. Mike is the friendliest, most loving, and arguably the loudest (lol) person in every room he walks in, which makes it nearly impossible not to love him the second you meet him. Of the many things I love about Uncle Mike, one that sticks out most is his ability to find something in common with EVERY person he meets. It's truly a one of a kind gift, that everyone deserves to witness...unless you're in a time crunch because you're guaranteed to spend at least 30 minutes chatting it up with him about your shared experiences! Uncle Mike, thanks for all the belly laughs, sound advice, words of encouragement, and willingness to indulge in ALL of my foolishness! Gon' head and get ya ticket to Memphis baby, mama's getting marrieddddddd!
