The Ravenel Bridge is the most iconic Charleston landmark, spanning from downtown Charleston into Mount Pleasant. This is, in our opinion, the best way to see the city! It's a great view and you'll be able to get some exercise in while you do it. The walk is 2.5 miles one-way from end to end, but you can turn around whenever you like. Parking is available on either end, at Waterfront Park in Mount Pleasant or East Bay Street downtown. Make sure to bring a camera or a phone to take pictures!
The Charleston City Market is a go-to, especially if you've never been to Charleston before! The historical four-block city market has tons of local vendors and always has something to do, see and taste. If you're looking for something to take home to remind you of your time in the city, this is the place to go. There are several parking garages nearby (Church Street Garage, Hassel Street Garage and Cumberland Street Garage) and the market is open daily.
Estimated around 500 years old, the Angel Oak tree is an absolute must-see when in Charleston, especially being only ten minutes from the wedding venue. This beautiful tree is said to be one of the oldest living things in the country and is free to visit, so definitely add it to your list while in town!
The South Carolina Aquarium is a given when in Charleston. With so many exhibits and displays of South Carolina's native animals and plants, it's pretty self-explanatory why this is a definite stop during your time in the Lowcountry.
