Hotel
You are more than welcome to stay wherever you please. However, we reserved a block of rooms at the Hilton Brooklyn for our out-of-town guests that want a convenient location for the weekend festivities. Just note that the shuttle to the ceremony will be departing from this hotel. We were able to secure a rate of $199/night for a King bedroom or $219/night for a bedroom with two Queens. The rate is available for Friday & Saturday night but also able to be extended two days pre & post-weekend given availability. Reservations must be booked by 3pm EST on August 3rd with the link below.
Flight
NYC has a number of airports - typically La Guardia is the fastest distance-wise. An Uber or taxi from La Guardia will likely cost ~$30-$50, you can expect to pay about $10-$15 more for travels from JFK. La Guardia is currently under construction, we recommend asking for help from an airport employee if you're having trouble locating the taxi stand or Uber waiting area. There are also trains and subways to/from JFK if you're up for the adventure! Also, if you feel more comfortable booking car service ahead of time, we suggest Carmel Car Service (sometimes their rates are lower than Uber & Lyft).
Travel Note
For those new to NYC, we recommend downloading Google Maps to help with navigating the City. With Google Maps, you can toggle between driving, walking, and subway directions. If you have time we highly recommend walking because it's a great opportunity to really see the City. However, the subway is the fastest and easiest way to get around town. A single subway ride is $2.75 or you can purchase a 7-day unlimited MetroCard for $33. Also, note that NYC currently requires masks to be worn while riding public transportation. Ubers and taxis are generally the same price, however, in inclement weather, we recommend trying to snag a taxi. Reminder: a taxi is only available if the light on the top of the car is illuminated, otherwise it's off duty or unavailable. You may see green-colored taxis while in Brooklyn, these are 'borough taxis' and you can consider them the same as the NYC yellow taxis.
