Jamie Simon

&

Jack Heitner

March 21, 2026

New York, NY

The Beginning

High School

Jamie spotted Jack in the bleachers at a Plainview football game in the fall of 2014. They met through friends, hung out in some backyards and basements, and went to see an Islanders game for their first real date. In March 2015, Jack officially asked Jamie to be his girlfriend. After 3 proms, plenty of Ralph's Italian Ices, and some long-distance experiences over the summer, they chose each other, despite choosing different colleges.

What Came Next

College, Camp, and Unforgettable Travel

Jack visited Jamie in beautiful Burlington, VT, and Jamie visited Jack in the illustrious tourist destination of Hamilton, NY. All jokes aside, they put in lots of time in the car, as well as texting, calling, and FaceTiming. The summer after freshman year, Jamie joined Jack at Timber Lake West, which gave them some nice actual face time between semesters spent mostly apart. Then, these crazy kids decided to spend two different semesters abroad. Car rides became plane rides, but nothing would stop Jack and Jamie from seeing each other - not even a blizzard and a cancelled bus meant to cross the Canadian border. Experiencing Iceland, Ireland, New Zealand, and Fiji together are memories that will never be forgotten.

Adulting

COVID, NYC, and More

The pandemic landed Jack and Jamie back in their hometown. Contrary to most of the world, they were together more at that time than most of the last few years. Amidst new jobs and the beginnings of grad school, Jamie moved into the city, followed by Jack a year later. Though still somewhat apart, the same city was nothing to complain about! Jack became pretty well-acquainted with the 6 train to Jamie's apartment. Finally, some might say, the two moved in together in September 2023.

Engaged

Upward Brewing Company

On Jamie's birthday, in December 2024, after nearly 10 years of dating, Jack popped the question. Thankfully, the random family he enlisted to take photos did a stellar job. The always enjoyable beers at Upward tasted even better that day.
