Brit and Dave both attended Concordia University Wisconsin for the graduate Pharmacy program. Dave was a 2nd year Pharmacy student and Brit was a 3rd year student when she first caught Dave's eye in the hallway. A few weeks later, around Valentine's Day, one of the Pharmacy school student organizations was holding a "Crush For A Crush" fundraiser. The premise was to spend $1 on a grape or orange Crush soda and send it to a crush with a cute note attached. Dave thought, "What the heck. I'm sure she'll love this grape soda for Valentine's Day." He spent a whole $1 and wrote his number on the note attached to the soda and sent it to Brit and the rest was history.
