Book your lodging at Grand Lake Lodge ASAP (yes, even if it is a year away). If you know you will be joining us, feel free to book flights as well, as the farther out you book, the better the price.
To assist us in our planning, please let us know about any known regrets as soon as possible. Formal invitations will have all RSVP information. If you do know you will be attending, we recommend booking lodging as soon as possible (yes, even a year+ out).
Yes! We have a small block of rooms at Grand Lake Lodge, where all wedding festivities will be taking place. Room rate varies based on room choice. Reservations can be made at the hotel's website (www.grandlakelodge.com) using the GROUP CODE (listed below). If additional days are needed either before Friday 8/5 or after Sunday 8/7 please book the Friday -> Sunday range online, and then email Ajohnson@highwaywest.com or groups@highwaywest.com to request an extension. The resort will be able to add additional days on either side and apply the same group rate. Please email them referencing the Silvi/Cooper Wedding and details of what you have already booked. Responses to emails may take a few days - we appreciate your patience! If you have questions, please reach out to Kristen or George. ROOM CODES Half Cabin Queen (code: 818796)
Grand Lake is located about 2 hours from Denver International Airport. We recommend renting a car at the airport. If you'd like to offer to, or join a carpool, please fill out this google sheet: https://tinyurl.com/3x6kwn2y Alternatively, there are several services that provide shuttles from DIA to Grand Lake. If you'd like to take the scenic route, Grand Lake is located just outside the western entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. You can drive through the park, but note that a reservation to enter the park is required during the summer months. You can make a reservation on recreation.gov.
Given Grand Lake Lodge has capacity for all guests on-site, we will not be providing shuttles. If you elect to stay elsewhere, you will need to plan to arrange transportation to the venue. Please note that Grand County has minimal on demand Ubers, Lyfts, and Taxis. One option we recommend is Home James Transportation. If you plan to indulge, please plan to have a designated driver (or prepare to walk!).
Only those named on the invitations are invited. Any children invited through formal invitation are NOT allowed at the wedding ceremony. The 30 minute ceremony is adults-only to limit any distractions or interruptions. There is a recreation room near the cocktail area where you could play with your child during the ceremony. Please note, this means that a parent would need to miss the ceremony to accompany their child elsewhere, or arrange for childcare. Thanks for understanding! If you have any questions or would like any clarifications, please reach out.
Welcome Party: Western Casual (optional). If you’ve been hoping for a place to showcase your cowboy boots, hat or denim, here is an opportunity! Otherwise, come as you are. Your presence is most important. Wedding is Mountain Formal Attire. Think wedding formal, but more colors or accessories if you want! Women: Below-the-knee dress, midi-dress, long dress, jumpsuit, suit. Please wear comfortable shoes (e.g., low heels, flats, boots). You will be walking on stairs & gravel. Leave your stilettos and ball gowns at home! Plan to bring a shawl or jacket as the evenings get cold. Men: Suits (e.g., black, navy, light-colored, earth tone), dress shoes, nice boots Note: The ceremony will be outdoors, and reception indoors/outdoors. Please bring a shawl or jacket. The temperature range in Grand Lake during mid-September is 40-70s. Please bring layers! The weather in Colorado can be unpredictable so we also recommend that you bring a jacket or a shawl for the wedding ceremony as it will be taking place outside.
We recommend drinking lots of water and electrolytes (Nuun, liquid IV, gatorade, etc) and moderating your intake of alcohol. 1 drink at altitude = 2 drinks at sea level. Please be smart.
