Although George and Kristen both went to Lehigh University and shared a 10 person hall freshman year, that isn't where the love story begins. Kristen and George knew of each other in college, but weren't close friends and never connected further. Once graduated from college (and a little more mature) they both found themselves in NYC. They reconnected via a dating app, and on their first date bonded over a shared love for margaritas and intellectual debate... about property tax laws. A few quick months later, and George mustered up the courage to ask if they were "technically dating". The rest is history!
Kristen and George planned a semi-impromptu trip to Australia. On this trip George organized a reservation at one of the top restaurants in Sydney (not out of the ordinary). They planned to shop that day for Kristen to find an outfit for the evening (last minute planning, normal), as they wanted to get dressed up (semi-normal). The plan was to propose at a viewpoint at sunset. Things took a turn when weather was constantly rainy, and the only clear window was mid-day. A quick flip of the schedule, George decided he wanted to wear his nice dinner clothes all day (out of the ordinary), and that they needed to get to the botanical gardens at a specific time (out of the ordinary). Soon enough, George got down on one knee, and popped the question. Kristen and George had a day of celebrating just the two of them on the other side of the planet, before excitedly sharing the news with family & friends.
