How we met

Oblivious

Anyone who knows Nicole knows how good of a friend she can be. Her heart exudes love and loyalty. So with that in mind let me tell you our story. I was a lead at JetBlue and she was one of the hardest workers there, so when another crewmember requested that she be on our team I had no hesitation jumping at the opportunity (the only reason she was available because her own lead, Pat, was on vacation). After a few days of working together it was only natural we became friends and I fell for her almost immediately. When Pat came back to work I asked him if I could keep her on my team he wasn't too happy, but when I told him how I started developing feelings for her he begrudgingly agreed. As the days turned into weeks I only fell for her more and more. We started hanging out after work grabbing drinks and food. I would send her subtle hints to her about my feelings, but she was completely oblivious to my advances. I was way too cowardly to come right out and say it because I wasn't her type, to say the least. I had outside help from the likes of Bo and Pat and little by little I gained the confidence to come right out and say that I liked her. She gave me the chance and it has been the best thing that's ever happened to us.

The Proposal

Crippling fear

I knew almost immediately that she was going to be my forever, but I didn't have the money to get her the ring she deserved (you know her bougie ass would say no if the ring didn't scream bling). I had been planning on how I would do it for years. Every scenario came up too short of the perfect proposal. I knew how important it was to have family there and it was almost like dominoes the way everything fell into place. I knew everyone would be together at Christmas and I knew she wouldn't see it coming. I hatched a plan with my brother, Joey, where he would come down from Malden with "her gift". Her gift was an empty box that I had wrapped and hid in the back of her car. I needed everyone to be there so that's why I told her Joey was coming with her gift. So now Joey comes and I meet him outside to get her gift and slid the ring in my pocket. By this point I'm literally shaking with nerves, I mean I could barely walk up the stairs. I hand her the empty box and tell her to open it. I almost put a picture of a middle finger in it but out of fear for my safety I opted to leave it empty. I had told everyone of my plans earlier so everyone was gathered around watching. I almost threw up. I swallowed back my fears as she opened the box. Her look of disappointment was my queue to go down on one knee. I had a speech planned so I started with, "You know I love you right?". She said yea whatever still thinking it was a joke and that threw my whole plan out the window so I just asked her to marry me.
