The very latest you would hear is by mid-April. We want to wait as long as possible in order to have the best picture of where the pandemic is headed, while still allowing enough time for our guests to make their travel arrangements. We are booking plenty of rooms at local hotels; if we are able to invite you in person, you will have a place to stay!
Our wedding is an outdoor, formal affair on a 400 acre private estate. We recommend cocktail or floor-length dresses, suits or jacket and tie. For those choosing to wear heels, we suggest a chunkier selection rather than stilettos so you don't get stuck in the grass! If you are joining us from home, may we be so bold as to suggest a formal top and your finest pajama bottoms.
Because of the historic nature of the property, no guests will be permitted to drive themselves and park on the grounds. Instead, we will be coordinating transportation to and from the hotels where we have room blocks. Buses or vans will bring guests to the property, and will drop guests off back at their pickup location at the end of the night. If you've chosen to stay elsewhere, we can discuss privately how we'll be able to assist you regarding transportation.
Unfortunately, due to the historic nature of the property (and limited parking), no guests are allowed to drive themselves.
Woodstock is equidistant from Burlington, VT and Manchester, NH (about an hour and a half by car). Both have large airports with lots of flight options. We recommend renting a car at either of these spots and enjoying the scenic drive through the mountains of New England to Woodstock. If for some reason you cannot find flights to either of those airports, Albany, NY and Boston, MA are the next closest. Lebanon, NH is the closest airport to Woodstock (only about 30 minutes away) but has fewer flight options. If traveling from NYC, we recommend driving or traveling by Amtrak. Their "Vermonter" line stops in White River Junction, NH (about 20 minutes east of Woodstock.) The train ride is approximately 4 hours, which is comparable to the driving time from NYC.
The town of Woodstock has reception, but the surrounding area is spotty. If you want to explore outside of Woodstock, we recommend downloading a map to use. The venue itself is nestled in the mountains and does not have reception.
Please see our Travel Page for details.
The property is sprawling and hilly, but we will have a golf cart available to assist those with mobility issues.
Absolutely! The cuisine is rustic, farm-to-table fare that is locally sourced with vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free options. We will also have an open bar.
Yes, we encourage guests to post photos on their social media channels. Our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #silverbringshomegold so we can keep track of all of the pictures taken!
It varies greatly in Vermont in August; the weather could be warm or cool. Be prepared for either! For those not wearing a jacket, we recommend bringing a wrap or shawl for when the sun goes down.
Both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors. We have a backup plan on the same property in case of rain.
We will be posting our registry through Zola, with its own page right here on our wedding website. Please check back soon; when it is available, you will see "Registry" listed as one of the tabs at the top of the page!
