No, you can stay for as little or as long as you can or want. We're sharing a ten-day itinerary for those wanting to explore the Dolomites with us and make this trip more than just the wedding day. Ideally, we would love it if you could stay the whole time.
Regardless of how long you plan on staying with us, we recommend packing the following items: - Hiking clothes with layers (it will get chilly at night). Details on hiking layers on Wedding Day Section. - Bathing suit - Hiking shoes - Camelbak - Backpack - Hiking poles (if you have any) - Formal wear for the hike and an additional outfit if you'd like to use a different one for the dinner.
As most of you may already know, our wedding day will be a little different. Since our plan is to have the ceremony at Lake Sorapis, we will be doing a hike to get there. You will need the following items for a comfortable experience: hiking clothes & shoes, a hat, a backpack, plenty of water, sunscreen and snacks of your choice! The backpack will be important since you'll be using it to pack up your formal outfits to change into once we get to the lake. We will have 2 pop up standing tents for people to change inside or, if open, we can all change at Rifugio Vandelli near the lake. After the hike, we'll head back to our hotel to shower, rest and change for dinner. Details for the dinner will be provided later on.
The overall hike is about 8 miles out and back. It'll take about 1 1/2 hours - 2 hours to get to the lake and less than that to get back to the trailhead. Elevation Gain is about 1,000+ ft (it can be considered moderate in difficulty). The actual ceremony won't be too long, but we'll want to spend some time appreciating the lake, hanging out and eating some food. We expect the overall hike time to be around 4 hours and 2 additional for the ceremony, hanging out and taking pictures! For this reason, the plan will be to wake up and meet for breakfast at 8:00AM and head to the trailhead to start the hike between 9-9:15AM.
We will be wearing a suit and gown, but that doesn't mean our guests need to follow the same dress code. The idea is for all of us to look nice though, so no casual wear! It will be cold at the lake, so we suggest a midi to long dress and a jacket/scarf for the women. Men to wear long sleeve button up shirts and pants. Feel free to bring a nice jacket!
You can either use the same outfit you changed into at the hike or another one of your choice! Semi Formal/Cocktail attire (make sure to bring layers, since it can get cold at night)
