When we think of our relationship, one of the first words that comes to mind is "team." Our team was first formed when we decided to surprise our coworkers with cookies and K'NEX to encourage them to "Take a moment to kinect with a coworker by sharing something sweet." People are generally bad at following their own advice and we are no different; for our first date, we swapped "kinect by sharing" with go head to head in a fierce Mario Kart competition and "something sweet" with the savory deliciousness of pizza and beer. Since that time, our relationship has been a healthy mixture of teamwork and competition, support and independence, duets and solos. It's gotten us through Grad School, Peace Corps, job changes, and moves and will carry us easily to 9-19-2020 when we will vow to tackle the rest of life together.
