It was the very beginning of my time at the animal ER, only my second shift. One of the techs was this cute guy I wanted to get to know. We interacted a few times throughout the shift including some treatments that other people would consider awkward, but I think that helped to break the ice. A little bit of meddling from an office manager to try to get me to start working at the ER full time, and like that, I was full time and we were inseparable!
Once we started dating, it was clear pretty quickly that this was the real thing. The "I love yous" came about 6 months in (Sierra said it first!). From there it was a whirlwind of work, travel, buying a house together, and more work!
It was 2020 and we were tired of being cooped up either at work or at home, and I'd just turned 30. The holidays were coming around and I wanted to travel to see my family before thanksgiving since we'd be working the holidays. We went to Lake Lure in NC so I could show Braxton one of my favorite places to go. While there, we planned to visit the Biltmore House as it's another one of my favorites. The day we were going to go to Biltmore, Braxton started pacing nervously and walked onto the dock. I went to check on him, and he popped the question! It had already been discussed at that point so the answer was "absolutely!" After, we went to Biltmore and had pictures taken in front of their Christmas tree on the lawn.
I've recently accepted a job at 2 clinics located in Wilson and Greenville, NC. I am currently traveling from WV to NC to stay and work 5 days every other week. We plan on buying a house and moving there by May. We are both very excited about the new opportunity for both of us but sad to be moving away. We promise to visit often!
