FAQs

The Wedding Website of Jessica Coots and Justin Siebenhaar
If you have any specific questions, or need help booking your travel, please email or text me! I love this stuff, so I am happy to help in any way <3
Question

What day should we get there?

Answer

That is completely up to you! Justin and I have appointments we will be at on Thursday and Friday morning. We've booked some activities for people to join in on for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. You are not by any means required to be there-- this is YOUR vacation too, so please do what makes your heart sing! -- On that note, please be there by Tuesday though ;)

Question

Where should we fly to?

Answer

Two closest places to fly into would be Rome or Milan, and I would choose based on your trip and whichever has the best price!

Question

How do we get around Italy?

Answer

Trains!! Love them! There are a couple of different sites that you can purchase tickets at: trenitalia.com, italiarail.com, raileurope.com, eurail.com. Really all depends on where you are coming from and where you are going, and how fast you want to get there :) If you want to rent a car to drive around, great! Just note that none of the towns in Cinque Terre allow cars, so unless you are staying outside of the "five towns", you'll be forced to leave your car at one of the main stations located outside of Cinque Terre.

Question

Is it hard to get around?

Answer

Most people are SUPER helpful-- we found that as long as we attempted to speak their language they were super kind and helpful! We took trains the last time we were there, and we'll be taking lots of trains this time too! Again, note that within the 5 towns of Cinque Terre, the only way to get from town to town is a train. You'll need a Cinque Terre travel card-- you can purchase one for 7euro/day or 14euro/2days. If you email me your travel arrangements, I can help you coordinate trains, where you need to go, ect. On another note, I would take a quick look at "most commonly used words" in Italian and also know how to tell time using 24 hour clock.

Question

How do we get from the airport to where your wedding is?

Answer

TRAINS! Unless you want to rent a car, the train system in Europe is AWESOME! There are multiple trains that run a day. Remember that there is a separate train system that runs in between the five towns where we will be, but you can easily get a train to the main stations outside Cinque Terre. Again, email me if you have any questions or need help booking your itinerary!

Question

Outlets

Answer

-Yes, they do use different outlets-- you will want to get an outlet adapter. You can buy one fairly inexpensive on Amazon (I've provided a link below for one we've bought before). You can charge your computer, phone, and basic items through this converter. For women, I will say you want an adapter and converter if you plan on using a straightner, curling iron, or blow dryer there. I've attached a higher quality outlet below too that I have used. I'll be honest, my straightner usually NEVER works in Europe (Tried it in Scotland, Ireland, and Italy and never got it to work), but my curling iron and blow dryer worked. Question

Do we need cash?

Answer

Yes, you will need Euro's for Cinque Terre. There are three ( I think) ATM's sprinkled throughout the five towns (one is in Manarola, Monterosso, and Vernazza), but most of the restaurants and little shops will only take cash-- some take cards, but better to be safe than sorry. All major cities such as Rome and Florence will mostly take cards and have many more ATM's if you need cash. Last time, I think we withdrew 500 euro's for Cinque Terre, but we also got some souvenirs and such!

Question

Clothing?

Answer

It will be hot and humid for almost the entire time you are in Cinque Terre-- even when it rains, its not that cold. We wore our swim suits almost the entire time, and then we brought linens and sun dresses for dinners. There is a lot of great hiking opportunities there as well, so hiking shoes (definitely don't want to wear flip flops on these trails) and shorts would be good.

Question

Do we need to stay in the same town as you?

Answer

Absolutely not! Each town has something special about it, and its a 2- 5 minute train ride to get to your next town and the trains run almost all day! Please, stay where you feel you will be happiest and enjoy yourselves!

Question

Accommodations ?

Answer

I've made a collection of Airbnb's, which you can find under the "TRAVEL" page. I can also recommend a couple of hotels and some other places if you are looking!

Question

Best Flights to take?

Answer

I've been doing a lot of research on flights and accommodations- looking for the best deals! Most everyone coming will be from Washington, Arizona, Bay Area, or SoCal. From Washington, best flight prices I've seen depart from Vancouver, BC or Seattle, WA --> ROME. Best from Socal is LAX--> ROME. Best from Bay area SFO--> Milan or SFO--> Rome From Arizona (if you can, fly to SoCal and depart) otherwise PHX-->ROME. Flights I've found so far range anywhere from $620-$1500 As of Jan 19' British Airways has some great deals!

Question

How much should we expect to spend?

Answer

We can't tell you how much it means to us, having you at our wedding. With that, I have really tried to list all "average" expenditures below. Note, it's based on per person. Flights: $700-$1500 Train Tickets from Rome: La Spezia : $20-$50 each way depending on what kind of seat you want. Train is about 5 hours. Train Tickets from Milan to La Spezia: $20-$50 each way depending on what kind of seat you want. Train is 3 hours. Cinque Terre Train Tickets: 7 euro for 1 day or 15 euro for a 2 day ticket per person. They have a family pass you can get too, but this is only worth it if you have a group of 3 or 4. Food: Estimate about 15 euro a meal (wine+food). You'll probably spend less, but I estimate high :) Accommodation: $100-200 per night for Cinque Terre. If you are traveling anywhere else, airbnb is pretty spectacular and you can find some great deals! We've booked in Rome, Venice, and Milan for $50-$80/night.

For all the days along the way
