Flight
Anchorage (ANC) is the closest commercial airport to flight into and Seward is a beautiful, 2.5 hour drive south from the Anchorage airport. There is a small airport in Seward but it is mostly for helicopter & flight tours and small, personal planes.
Rental Car
A rental vehicle or shuttle booking will be necessary to get from Anchorage to Seward and back. The easiest standard car rentals will be available directly from the Anchorage Airport. There are several places to rent an RV, truck camper, or a camper van in Anchorage if you prefer to have your lodging and vehicle rental in an all-in-one booking (a truly Alaskan move). There are plenty of scenic and private places to camp along the way as well as in Seward, and a large campsite right next door to the wedding venue. Train
The Alaska Railroad is also a great option to get from Anchorage to Seward and back if you don't want to get a rental vehicle. Seward is a very small and walkable community and we will have shuttles set up the night of the wedding to bring guests out to Lowell Point.
Shuttle
September 13, 2025 2:00 pm - 1:00 am
A shuttle will be running at regularly scheduled intervals (yet to be scheduled) during the day and evening of the reception for friends & family staying in town.
Travel Note
Seward is a very popular travel destination for tourists from around the world, as well as for fellow Alaskans looking for a mountain and seaside weekend getaway. We highly recommend booking accommodations well in advance as places will continue to fill up in the shoulder season. We've included a few lodging options below but this is by no means an exhaustive list. Airbnb or VRBO type properties are the common way that people book accommodation in this town (it is full of home vacation rentals!) but there are a few hotels that are open and operating in the shoulder season as well. If accommodations and budget are a challenge for you- please contact us! We completely understand this is a big trip and we do not want this to be a limitation to you being able to join us! There are plenty of free and cheap camping areas and we may be able to help find friend's campers or guest rooms as an option to stay in.
