The weekend after Kim graduated from Winona State, we met for the first time while visiting a college friend in Apple Valley. After some small talk, one of the first questions Caleb asked was whether Kim was a Packers fan. When she said she was a Vikings fan, he joked that her answer sealed the deal! After that, we spent a lot of time together, going to plenty of Wild games, where Caleb shared his love of sports. After a special dinner at Porter Creek on March 7, 2018, we made things official. Not long after, God blessed Kim with her first teaching job in Elko New Market, which brought us even closer together — a blessing in more ways than one. In March 2021, we added a new member to our little family: Finley, our golden retriever, who quickly stole our hearts. He loves being a 92-pound lap dog, spending time with his grandparents, and going anywhere we go. Over the years, we’ve made countless memories: family vacations, trips to Clearwater Beach (Kim’s happy place), being each other’s plus-one at weddings, and all the everyday moments in between. On May 26, 2025, Caleb planned a hike in Red Wing, which was a little suspicious since it was the day before heading back to teaching (only teachers get it). During the hike, Finley stole the show as usual, pulling us deep into the bluffs. That’s where Caleb got down on one knee and asked Kim to marry him. It was just the two of us (and Finley), and it couldn’t have been more perfect. We can’t wait to start this next chapter together, surrounded by family, friends, and all of the golden retrievers.
