Travel Note
In France you have a lot of "Gîtes" and "Chambre d'hôte". The Gîtes are houses you rent in which you are fully independent (you need to go grocery shopping and make your own meals) The Chambre d'hôte are quite similar to the BnB concept. They are rooms rented out in a house and you often have breakfast with the owner of the house. Most of them are now independent from the main house so you have some intimacy and there are a lot of charming ones. Some of them offer "table d'hôte" service so you can have your other meals as well but most of the time you have to eat outdoors. There are a lot of charming gîtes & chambres d'hôtes in the area so it is worth giving it a look. The most famous website to find them is Gîtes de France but you can find many option on google by tipping gîte + desired destination or chambre d'hôte + desired destination. Otherwise there is always the airbnb website for those who want to explore that option.
