Sometimes the world gives us little hints on where our fate lies- a child's first t-shirt has cars on it, and they grow up to be a mechanic. Other times, the hints are less subtle- Grover Cleveland telling Franklin Roosevelt, as a young boy, that he wished him to never become president of the United States. Some may believe these moments to be whiffs of predestination; others believe them to be oases meant to guide our free will. Regardless of what you think, you'll agree that the most unsubtle is meeting your spouse in a play where you're cast as husband and wife. Yes, Evan & Victoria met eleven years ago in a production of Neil Simon's "God's Favorite", a contemporary retelling of the Book of Job (thankfully, that part of the meeting wasn't as predictive as their roles). Over the next five years, they got to know each other working under the auspices of the same playhouse, performing, directing, and producing together; at what would prove to be the final production of the troupe, Evan finally asked Victoria out roughly two hundred feet from the spot they'll be saying their vows on October 9, 2021. Roughly two months later, Victoria would move to Portland, Oregon- and Evan would follow, both of them seeing the breadths of America for the first time. They've thrived in Portland since, navigating their twenties and generally embracing their once-inner (now very-outer) goofballs. After five apartments, scores of trips, dozens of dive bars, and more than a few annoyed neighbors, they return to Port Jefferson, New York to revel in committing to each other for the rest of the lives. (And you're invited!)
