Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center

This is the most convenient option for Saturday. The Highlands in The Renaissance Center (our wedding venue) is in the same building so it's just an elevator ride away!

Courtyard by Marriott Detroit Downtown

This hotel is located right across the street from the Renaissance Center and guests can take a skyway to and from the Renaissance Center from the Courtyard. To book: Call the Marriott directly to book a room under our room block: McQuillan/Shulby Wedding Room Block. The room block will close on August 26th.

Fort Pontchartrain a Wyndham Hotel

Call the hotel and specify the “McQuillan Wedding” room block. We have a block of rooms with two double beds reserved.

DTW - Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport

This is where you will fly into! Take an Uber, Lyft, taxi, or limo (if that's your thing) to downtown Detroit. The drive to downtown Detroit is approximately 30 min

Travel From Marriott Renaissance Center to Tin Roof

By car/Uber it is approximately 7 minutes away, and by foot, it's about 20 minutes. Kari and I have made this walk plenty of times! There are also electric scooters (Bird, Lime) that you can take.

Marriott Renaissance Center to the Ceremony

There are a specific set of elevators for The Highlands that will take you to the 72nd-floor (Ceremony). The elevators are in the Marriott on the 3rd floor and they open to the inside of the Ren Cen, you will see an elevator and a hostess stand that will send you up. If you get lost, which is easy because the Ren Cen is huge, ask someone and let them know you are going to a wedding at The Highlands! You can also take the elevator to the 71st-floor (bar and restaurant) to grab a drink before the ceremony!

Rental Car

No need for one

Besides taking an uber/lyft/taxi to and from the airport to the hotel, the only other time you will need an uber or taxi is Friday night to get to the Tin Roof. Hopefully, you will not need a rental car for this trip since everything is downtown so one less expense! If you do happen to get one, please reach out to us and we can suggest parking for you if needed.
