Henna (Mehndi) is a pre-wedding ritual where intricate henna designs are applied to the hands and feet of the bride, as well as other female family members and friends participating in the celebration. Mehndi is seen as a symbol of beauty, auspiciousness, and good luck. Haldi is a pre-wedding ceremony in which the bride and groom are anointed with a paste of turmeric, oil, and water. The ceremony is believed to bless the couple with a happy and prosperous marriage.

A Baraat is the groom’s procession into the wedding ceremony. The procession signifies an age-old tradition of the groom who would travel, singing and dancing, to the bride's home. Everyone celebrates and dances in excitement for the next part of the groom’s life. It is the groom's one chance to be the center of attention before the bride steals the show! P.S. Depending on the humidity and heat of the day, you may sweat from dancing.
