They first met in the pick up lane at LAX. Spencer knew that in LA, a ride home from the airport is a great romantic gesture. So as Bethany was arriving back home from Kentucky one late July, he offered to be her knight in shining "car". Bethany never regretted stepping into his car that day. She says it was his smile, Spencer says it was her voice. Whatever it was, they talked for hours on end in a late night diner. They shared southern roots and open minds. A deep love for film, music, and nature. A need to explore, create and soak in all the goodness life has to offer. They had so much in common that they were both speechless at one point. Which, as you know, is rare. Spencer dropped Bethany off that night and before she shut the door he asked, “May I see you again tomorrow?” She said, Yes. He asked that very same question fourteen nights in a row. Bethany always said, Yes. By the end of those two weeks- it was clear. Their souls had found a home in each other. A reflection they had never seen before. Since then, they have explored four countries, snorkeled in volcanic riffs, climbed mountains, kissed under giant waterfalls, gotten lost in the desert, slept under stars, howled at the moon, connected with their roots, sang a million cowboy songs, watched an ungodly amount of movies, adopted a kitty son, made a feature film and fell in love with each other’s families. They were now believing that nothing had ever been as easy as loving each other. On their two year anniversary- they stood on the black sand beaches of Vik, Iceland- a place they had always dreamt of going together. With not another soul in sight, Spencer got down on one knee and asked Bethany if she would be his best friend in the universe, forever. He shook and she cried. And once again- She said, Yes.
