Our wedding will begin at 5:30 with an hour of cocktails, culinary delights, horse sightings, and an opportunity to welcome the people we love. At 6:30, we will transition to Kabbalat Panim, where the brides will veil each other and get everyone hyped for the ceremony. Immediately afterwards will be our wedding ceremony, which will be rooted in Jewish law and tradition, with additional elements crafted and personalized by the brides. All the rituals, traditions, and meaningful components of the day will be explained in our wedding program. After the ceremony, the brides will spend a private moment together while guests head to a seated dinner. The hours of 8:00-11:00 will be interspersed with dinner, dancing, sunset, and desserts. For those who have the energy, celebrations will continue from 11:00-1:00 with an after-party, including more music, more food, a fire pit, Lauren's birthday at midnight, and other surprises and shenanigans. We are honored, humbled, and excited to see you there!
Both! If we are blessed with good weather, the ceremony will take place outdoors in the ceremony field. All other events will be indoors, but the feel will be "indoor-outdoor" as we will be on a farm and immersed in nature.
Think formal and elevated, but with a farm chic twist! Flowy, floral, colorful, and breathable enough for a summer wedding in late June. For footwear, we recommend wedges over heels for more comfortable strolling around the farm. Some Jewish weddings request modest attire; ours is not one of those. Please come as you are!
Aside from our nieces and nephews, this one is a night for the adults. (If you have a very young baby or extenuating circumstances, let us know - we want you there!)
Driving: From Manhattan, take I-87 North (New York State Thruway) toward Saugerties. Take Exit 20 and follow local roads to Oz Farm. The drive is usually under 2 hours from the city, but leave yourself 2.5 hours in case of traffic. We will be sending out a google doc to guests to help coordinate ride shares, and possibly a shuttle from Manhattan. Public Transportation: Take Amtrak or Metro North to Rhinecliff. From there, it's a 25 minute Uber ride to Oz Farm.
Yes, you can park right on the farm.
There are several golf carts that the staff can use to help transport you around the farm for those who need it. If you have other concerns about getting around, please let us know.
YES! If you can swing it, you should absolutely plan to stay the night. We're biased, though, and we know not everyone can! Please see the Accommodations page for our local suggestions.
Out-of-town guests are invited to a rehearsal dinner on Saturday evening, June 27th. (See separate invite.) Those who stay overnight in Saugerties will also be invited to Lauren's birthday brunch on Monday June 29th. (Details coming soon in a separate invite.) Finally, New York guests will be invited to an "aufruf" earlier in June, where Shosh and Lauren will read Torah and lead services in celebration of creating a Jewish life and home together.
Our wedding is 100% glatt kosher, catered by Mauzone and certified by the Orthodox Union. If you are pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan, or have food allergies, please indicate those details on your RSVP form.
