We’re tying the knot... and yes there will be an open bar!

Niecy and I met a bar that we both would hang out at frequently through her good friend Myisha in 2018. Shouts out to her for her tenacity in getting us to talk. First attempt wasn’t very successful since we were both several shots in that night lol. However second attempt Myisha took no chances. She introduced us and then jetted right on out the door. That left us with no choice but to talk and I’m incredibly grateful that she did. Little did we know that conversation would be the start of OUR story. Then the fact that we were both from Chicago well that just put the icing on the cake. Shortly after she mentioned she had a trip planned for Mexico in a few weeks and I can’t remember if she asked or if I invited myself but either way we were both on that flight! Few weeks after we were officially off the market.

I had decided that I I was ready to propose and now I was tasked with looking for the perfect place to do it. First, I was thinking possibly on a cruise we were planning but Melinda decided that she no longer wanted to do the cruise anymore. So now I am stuck waiting for us to decide on a resort and location. Well once this was decided I knew we had previously agreed to do the professional pictures on the next stay at a resort. So, our first night at the hotel we ran into the photographer while walking through the resort and Melinda decided to go set up the shoot. After Melinda walked off I stopped to let her know that I wanted beach photos and that I was planning on proposing during the shoot. We were scheduled for a sunset shoot in two days. Well the next night we decided to go to a club in Playa where the party didn’t end until 3:30am, at least that is when our ride was supposed to leave. Let’s just say we had a lot of fun and got in a little late. So now it is the next day and Melinda is struggling to get herself together from the day before. All she is telling me is “I don’t know about these pictures today.” I had to put my foot down and say we are doing these pictures. Well it is time to get ready for the pictures and she is still not feeling these photos. Like a trooper she gets dressed and we are headed off. I am super nervous. So we meet one of the photographers along the bridge to the Beach. We start along the bridge and then end up on the beach. The photographer has us getting in different poses all along the bridge all the way to the beach. Once we hit the Beach and we are still posing. He then tells Melinda to stand with her back to me and look the other way. He tells me to get down like him. He then makes her look back at him and turn back towards me. The look in her eyes of surprise confusion as to what is happening. I know now she was wondering how the heck did I get this past her LOL. This was truly one of the best moments of our lives.
