FAQs

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year in Alaska?

Answer

Welcome to winter in Alaska! Temperatures range from 25°F to 10°F and there's about 9 hours of light each day. You'll be able to enjoy classic winter activities like dog sledding and snowshoeing during one of the best times to see the northern lights.

Question

What should I wear to the ceremony?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is "Winter Chic". Think winter appropriate cocktail attire (feel free to add fur, darling) or a suit and tie/ sports coats, etc. One important note, we are getting married in a 19th century Tudor mansion with original hardwood floors. Only unworn slippers are allowed on the floors. We have found tons of swanky, stylish slippers and hope you have as much fun finding your pair as we did!

Question

Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Answer

We prefer that you do it online.

Question

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no" online, so that we can plan accordingly.

Question

Will food and drinks be served after the wedding?

Answer

We will have a non-traditional cocktail hour following our wedding with wine, craft beer, a grazing board and buffet style bites. Following this cocktail hour, if you RSVP'd "yes" to Chasing the Aurora with us - we'll head out for a night of adventure. You will have plenty of time to eat something hearty in between.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

In lieu of traditional gifts, we are seeking a stellar honeymoon experience. You can help make this dream come true via our registry page on this site.

Question

Will transportation be provided between to/from the hotel?

Answer

Fairbanks: If you're making our wedding your excuse for a proper vacay, we commend you and highly suggest renting a vehicle with 4WD so that you can explore the area surrounding Fairbanks. But, if it's just a quick trip - we're still in the States and Uber/Lyft are convenient options.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

If you are coming to Fairbanks, we would prefer that you are present during our ceremony and that your phones are on silent. We will have a photographer and videographer onsite, both of whom will share an album after the wedding. If you'd like to take photos at the cocktail hour or Aurora excursion feel free, but please tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #heintzsight2023 so we can keep track of all of your pictures!”

Question

Can I bring a date or my children?

Answer

Everyone invited has a plus one for our wedding. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only and we will only be able to accommodate those who RSVP by 8/11. Additionally, our venue is full of breakable heirloom antiques and Aurora hunting can be a bit of a long night for littles. We love your children as much as we love you, we just ask that you are mindful of the evening when making your preparations. Thank you for understanding this decision.
