How do I get to the venue?
Answer
The venue for both Friday and Saturday's events is the Highlands House in Ben Lomond, at 8500 CA-9. It's a Santa Cruz County Park that is directly off of a two-lane highway. Because of this, it can become trafficky, so please leave ample time to travel. It takes about 20 minutes from downtown Santa Cruz without traffic to reach the Highlands House. There is a parking lot but it's a bit small, so please carpool with as many guests as you can. If you have space in your car, please reach out to us and we can find people to ride with you, or we can set you up with someone who is already driving.

What's a Sangeet? Can I participate?
Answer
Yes, please! A sangeet is a very fun event where friends and family choreograph dances to entertain the soon-to-be newlyweds. And yes - there are plenty of movies and television shows (and of course Bollywood films) to take inspiration from! Though sangeets traditionally are for dancing, we wanted to open it up to anyone who wants to play an instrument, sing, read a poem, prepare a short toast, or do a tight 5. Shivani's sister, Ambika will be coordinating the program for the evening, and her email is ambika.rustagi@gmail.com. Please go for it! :)

What do I wear?
Answer
First and foremost, please wear what you feel comfortable in and what makes you feel fly! Indian weddings are known to be colorful, so we encourage some dye in your tie (or dupatta). If you would like to wear Indian clothes and/or jewelry, please don't hesitate to reach out to Shivani and she can guide you to find options online, or try to find something for you to borrow. While both events are cocktail attire, Friday's event leans a little more casual and Saturday's is more formal, whatever that means to you! Last but not least: while it may be mid-August, it tends to cool down at night in Santa Cruz. We encourage you to dress in layers or bring a light jacket. The venue is also primarily grass, so please plan your footwear accordingly. We can't wait to see your amazing outfits!

There will be buffet-style Indian food both evenings with different diets in mind. Dessert will include items from the two places we were working at when we first started dating ;) and there will be wine and beer!
