Question

How we met?How we met?

Answer

We had matched on Bumble in October 2021 but I (the bride) asked for a rain check as I was an intern with a busy residency schedule. Kush reached out to me a month later, asking if I wanted to meet for dinner. He also prefaced by saying it is his last day in the area and he was moving to Philly soon. I honestly contemplated not going since I once again was on a busy rotation at work. It was between seeing him or watching Netflix but alas I got my lazy butt off the sofa and agreed to meet. I remember showing up and he was already there with his salmon colored shirt and khaki pants with nice brown boots. We started by discussing our day and the conversation kind of free flowed from there. Like a gentleman he hugged me goodbye and we promised that we stay in touch despite him moving 2 hours away. Our love story was one that started slow and steady. Kush was a breath of fresh air. He was kind, caring, funny, and handsome. My work was taking priority and as Pennsylvania was facing the COVID surge and my schedule became more and more busy. However, through all that Kush made sure to text me everyday whether sending a good morning or asking how my day went. After our first date we met again 2 weeks later, this time we both were more relaxed and got to go know each other well. We continued to talk on the phone as now he was 2 hours away and with both of our busy schedules it was impossible to find time to meet. From that point forward there was really no stopping us. Despite having one day off a week and being 2 hours away we made it work. Kush would drive up to see me on my busy rotations. When I had downtime I would drive down and we would spend the weekend exploring Philly. As they say the rest is history!

The sangeet ceremony has become a popular pre-wedding event. We will have a blend of both Gujarati & Punjabi cultures to represent our bride and groom's heritage. The event will be a night of colorful festivities with dance performances and a night market type of food selection ranging from different cuisines.

Question

What will wedding day look like? What will wedding day look like?

Answer

Breakfast for our Hilton hotel guests will be served from 7:30 am - 9:30 am The baraat or groom's procession will start at 10 am. The groom usually comes on a horse dancing with family to the entrance of the wedding venue. It's an hour of dancing and joy between both sides of the family. The bride's family will welcome the groom at the entrance before proceeding into the wedding venue. The ceremony will begin at 11 am. A Hindu ceremony will be held and the bride will be welcomed. The ceremony will have elements of spiritual meaning and significance. The ceremony typically lasts anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour. Following the ceremony there will be a vegetarian lunch (per tradition). After lunch there will be about a 4 hour break to relax and rest before the evening events. Cocktail hour will start at 6:30 pm with a champagne welcome at 6:00 pm outside the grand ballroom. We encourage our guests to change attire between the morning and evening events. Suits for men and cocktail dresses/Indian wear for women. The cocktail hour will be followed by the reception, where we want all of our guests to put on their dancing shoes and celebrate the night away for our lovely couple!
