Local Limitations

While Banff is a charming and unforgettable destination, it does come with a few quirks to keep in mind during your stay: -Many businesses have limited operating hours, especially in the evenings and on Sundays -There are no Uber or Lyft services available. Tip: Use local taxi services or plan to walk; Banff is very pedestrian-friendly! -Public transportation is minimal but offers good coverage within Banff. Tip: The Roam Public Transit system is affordable and reliable for getting around town and to nearby attractions. -Food delivery options are very limited -Cell service and Wi-Fi can be spotty, particularly outside of town. Tip: Download offline maps and trail info ahead of time, and let someone know your plans before heading out on hikes We recommend planning ahead when possible so you can fully enjoy your time here!

Flight

Calgary International Airport (YYC)

Guests should plan to fly into Calgary International Airport (YYC). From the airport, Banff is about a 90-minute drive. There are shuttles available to take you from YYC to the Canalta Lodge in Banff, or you’re welcome to rent a car if you prefer to explore at your own pace.
