We met online on Hinge. It was 2020 and COVID was still happening, at that time all the restaurants, bars and cool stuff around where we lived were closed, so we spent 2 weeks talking through texts and instagram DMs pretty much everyday. Then one day Christian invited me to go play pool and have some drinks on the rooftop at the building that he was living in DC on a Friday night. As you guys can see I went there, we had lots of fun, and never got apart since, hahaha. ——————————————————————————————————- Nós nos conhecemos online através de um aplicativo chamado Hinge. Era 2020 então COVID ainda estava acontecendo e todos os restaurantes, bares e lugares interessantes pra sair não estavam funcionando, passamos 2 semanas conversando todos os dias por mensagem e DM do instagram. Então um dia Christian me convidou para ir para a cobertura do apartamento que ele morava em DC, beber e jogar sinuca numa sexta feira. Como vocês podem ver, eu fui e desde então nunca mais nos separamos, hahaha.

Remember that our very first date was on Christian’s rooftop? So, almost 3 years after that we were already living together in another state and Christian decided that he wanted to go to DC for the 4th July weekend to watch the fireworks from his old building rooftop, so we went a few days earlier to spend some time with our friends in Maryland. So on the 4th we went to the rooftop with other 2 friends and a friend of his friend who was supposed to be a photographer for the fireworks, since you can see the fireworks blowing by the monument from there (of course I truly believed he was there with the only intention of taking pictures of the fireworks + monument. He even told me he had never taken 4th July’s fireworks pictures from a rooftop before and he was very excited, lol.) So yeah, at some point when the fireworks started to blow Christian asked to the photographer to take a picture of us and while I was still believing that it was an innocent picture of me and Christian with the monument and fireworks, he got on his knees and proposed me. I cried a little bit because I was so happy and couldn’t believe he was doing it right where we met for the first time with dozens of people that was there to watch the fireworks looking at us clapping, smiling and celebrating without even knowing us. It was really magical and it will be forever in my best memories about us. ——————————————————————————————————- Lembra que o nosso primeiro date foi na cobertura do apartamento que Christian morava? Então, depois de quase 3 anos daquele dia nós já tínhamos nos mudado para morar juntos em outro estado e Christian decidiu que queria viajar para DC para assistir a queima de fogos do 4 de julho na cobertura do antigo prédio dele, onde da pra ver o famoso monumento da capital do país e os fogos explodem bem em cima dele (4 de julho é o dia da independência dos Estados Unidos e em todo lugar do país eles celebram com queima de fogos, mais ou menos como o nosso réveillon no Brasil). Nós viajamos alguns dias antes para ir visitar nossos amigos que moram em Maryland (uma cidade bem próxima de DC), e ai no dia 4 de julho fomos para a cobertura assistir os fogos com mais 2 amigos e um amigo de um desses amigos que era fotografo e eles me disseram que tinham convidado ele para tirar fotos da queima de fogos de la, que como eu disse antes, tem uma vista muito boa (e claro que eu acreditei que ele tava ali so pra tirar fotos dos fogos. Ele ate falou que era a primeira vez dele tirando fotos de uma cobertura e que ele estava super animado. Mas na verdade Christian e o amigo tinham contratado ele para tirar fotos do pedido kkkk). Depois de um tempo que a queima de fogos começou Christian pediu ao fotografo para tirar uma foto nossa com os fogos atrás e enquanto eu estava fielmente acreditando que era so uma foto com os fogos, ele se ajoelhou e me pediu em casamento na frente de todo mundo. Eu chorei um pouquinho de felicidade e de nervosismo porque a cobertura estava lotada de gente que nunca vimos na vida pra assistir a queima de fogos e todo mundo estava olhando, gritando e aplaudindo a gente. Foi realmente um momento muito mágico e vai ficar pra sempre nas minhas melhores memórias.
