It all started in 2016 at Iowa State. Stephanie and Cory were both taking Tearoom hospitality course as a requirement for each of their college majors. They were often paired as partners in the lab portion of the class. Throughout the class, they would take part in typical lab partner chatter. On their last day of class, after completing their 8am final, Cory asked Stephanie on a date. Cory and Stephanie’s first date was at Welch Ave Station, where they shared an evening of drinks and conversation to get to know one another outside of class. They learned they grew up 20 minutes apart from each other, so over Christmas break they found themselves texting and planning to meet up for New Years. They rang in 2017 together with friends. Back at ISU after Christmas break, Stephanie and Cory were finding themselves spending more and more time together until they were inseparable. By mid January, Cory asked Stephanie to be his girlfriend. With graduation quickly approaching, Cory accepted an internship in Seattle, WA as Stephanie was finishing up her final semester at ISU. Upon graduating in December 2017, Stephanie found a job and moved to Seattle to join Cory, and the rest is history. Throughout the years, Cory and Stephanie have had many adventures and opportunities to grow in life and love. After 7 years, they decided it was time to finally tie the knot and move into the next chapter of their love story. Cory proposed to Stephanie on November 26th, 2023 in one of their favorite places, Leavenworth, WA, as it was lit up with beautiful Christmas lights.
