We are going with cocktail/ mountain chic attire. Please wear something comfortable to be outside for the day. The venue is on wood chips or grass so we don't recommend high heels. Bare feet is always welcome! We recommend bringing a jacket for the evening as temperatures drop off once it gets dark (9pm).
Based on last year, this week varied with daytime temps of 65 -95 degrees and dropping down to as low as 50 at night. Most likely it is going to be sunny and hot for the ceremony but it will get cool at night, so please bring a jacket. There is always a chance for an afternoon thunderstorms, so it's a good idea to bring a raincoat to Durango, just in case.
Ridgewood Event Center is the location for both ceremony and reception, about a 25 minute drive from downtown. We will have shuttles picking up and dropping off from downtown Durango.
The ceremony will be outside with lots of sun exposure (will likely get pretty warm). Reception will be in a mixture of indoor and outdoor space and is an easy walk from the ceremony.
Walk on over to the reception area for cocktail hour and yard games. Dinner will begin around 6:30 followed by toasts, dessert and plenty of time to break it down.
Nawww.... bring bare feet if you want to run in the grass, or a fancy suit if you wanna show off.
We HIGHLY recommend using the shuttle especially if you'll be drinking. The shuttles will drop off in downtown Durango, walkable to most lodging or an easy location to get an Uber from. If you plan to drive, there is free parking available at the event.
Ceremony will start at 4:30 but feel free to get to the venue anytime after 3:30. The ceremony runs along the beautiful La Plata River and there are short walking trails you can explore before we start.
Yes!...we would love for all kiddos to be able to come for all of the fun. There is a loft above the venue that we will use as a kid zone if they need to crash and parents want to keep the night going.
Lots of options for lodging but we do recommend booking early, as June in Durango is very busy. Please see our lodging section on the logistics page.
Please do not mail back your RSVP, we are gathering all responses online. Click the RSVP tab in the top navigation on the right side. Please let us know by May 25, 2022.
Yes, we will have options available for vegan/vegetarian/gluten free guests.
a. Altitude - the wedding will be at 8,000' elevation, which means the air is thinner. Some people will find it harder to breath. We suggest staying hydrated before, and while in Colorado. b. Weather - Being at a higher altitude, the sun feels harsher so we recommend bringing hats, and wearing lots of sunscreen, even if outside briefly. c. Alcohol - again, the altitude will make you feel the effects of the cocktails much quicker, just fyi :)
1. Will we be hiking to the top of a mountain? - No, you can drive to the venue. There are flat hiking trails around the venue that you can walk on, but the ceremony and reception are under a 5 min walk.
