Things To Do

We highly recommend spending a couple of extra days on MV before or after the festivities. Here are some things you can't miss!
Jaws Bridge

Jaws Bridge

267-125 Seaview Avenue, Edgartown, MA 02539

Stop by the Jaws Bridge, known locally as 'Second Bridge' or 'Big Bridge,' and you'll see it's typically packed with kids of all ages. No real or mechanical sharks there, so feel free to take the plunge; the Atlantic Ocean water is the warmest it will be all year in September! Need more to get your full 'Jaws' fix? Check out this guide to all the spots on MV that you may have seen in the film: https://www.curbed.com/maps/the-ultimate-jaws-filming-location-map-of-marthas-vineyard

Aquinnah Cliffs Overlook

Aquinnah Cliffs Overlook

31 Aquinnah Circle, Aquinnah, MA 02535

Aquinnah is a center of Wampanoag culture, and there are few places on the Vineyard where you can find more stunning views than at the Aquinnah Cliffs overlook and the iconic Gay Head Lighthouse. It's a bit of a drive, but worth it to see the epic clay cliffs, which were carved by glaciers.

Farm Neck Golf Club

Farm Neck Golf Club

1 Farm Neck Way, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557
, (508) 693-3057

For(e) our golf lovers, if you have your clubs and want to play one of the best courses in New England, be sure to tee it up at Farmneck Golf Club! A favorite among island locals, visiting celebrities as well as Sam & Emma!

Flying Horses Carousel

Flying Horses Carousel

15 Oak Bluffs Avenue, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557
, (508) 693-9481

The Flying Horses is America's oldest operating carousel and was a favorite summer activity during the bride's childhood. Whether you take a ride or just a look, the Flying Horses is a must-see!

Donovan's Reef at Nancy's

Donovan's Reef at Nancy's

29 Lake Ave, Oak Bluffs, MA 02568

Don't leave MV without stopping by Nancy's for a dirty banana frozen cocktail from Donovan's Reef! Looking for something zero-proof? We recommend a non-alcoholic piƱa colada or some onion rings!

Bad Martha Farmer's Brewery

Bad Martha Farmer's Brewery

270 Upper Main Street, Edgartown, MA 02539
, (508) 939-4415

Stop by Bad Martha for a mid-bike ride or post-beach beer! Try Sam's pick - the Vineyard Summer Ale, or Emma's pick - the Island IPA.

Menemsha Hill

Menemsha Hill

345 North Road, Chilmark, MA 02535
, (508) 693-3678

If you have some extra time, try this easy hike to the beach (and the second-highest point on the island) in the up-island town of Chilmark! Follow it up with a chowder from the Galley or some mac bites from the Bite at Menemsha.

Menemsha Galley

Menemsha Galley

515 North Road, Chilmark, MA 02535
, (508) 645-9819

The Galley was a staple stop on the annual bike ride around the Vineyard that Emma and her mom took every summer! The chowder was a favorite of Emma's late grandmother and on a clear day you can take in views of the nearby Elizabeth islands while you enjoy it. If you have a free evening, stick around for one of the best sunset views on the island!
