Where to Stay

We recommend staying in one of two areas: Santa Cruz de La Palma or Los Cancajos. Shuttles will transport guests to and from the wedding from these locations (meeting points will be shared later). Both areas are also close to the airport. Here are some details to help you decide which area is best for you: Santa Cruz de La Palma: The capital of the island, Santa Cruz offers plenty to do, including shopping, dining, and exploring historical sites. It has a charming, historic atmosphere with cobblestone streets and colorful buildings, perfect for guests who enjoy a lively town. Los Cancajos: A small resort town ideal for those looking to relax by the beach. It's a quieter spot, perfect for unwinding, with many hotels featuring pools and a variety of local seafood restaurants. Below are 3 hotel options for each area (6 total), but feel free to explore other options, such as booking a different hotel or finding an Airbnb. We highly recommend booking your hotel as soon as possible, as we expect it to be a very busy summer.

Getting Around

La Palma does not have Uber or Lyft, so the best way to get around the island (other than renting a car) is by taxi or public transportation. Your hotel should be able to assist you in finding a taxi, but we will also share more details about taxis and transportation options later. You can easily get to your hotel from the airport by taking a taxi, which are available right outside the terminal. If you are planning on staying for a while and want to explore everything the island has to offer, renting a car is the best option. You can rent a car at La Palma Airport (SPC), but make sure to reserve an automatic if you're not comfortable driving stick shift, as most rentals are stick shift. For more details, visit this link:

How to Fly There

La Palma is accessible via La Palma Airport (SPC). For guests coming from the US, the most straightforward way to reach La Palma is by taking a direct flight to Madrid, then connecting on a direct flight to La Palma. If you're flying from Madrid, Iberia will likely be the airline operating the route to La Palma. You might have to stay a night in Madrid on your way back. Another option is flying to Tenerife North (TFN). Tenerife is one of the bigger Canary Islands, and there are multiple daily flights from Tenerife to La Palma. It's a short, easy 25-minute flight, making it a very convenient connection. If you're flying from another island (e.g., Tenerife or Gran Canaria), you can use either Binter Canarias or Canaryfly airlines (a cheaper option). If you’re coming from other cities in Europe (perhaps making this part of a Eurotrip), there are some direct flights to La Palma from certain cities, but you’ll find more options by connecting through Tenerife or Gran Canaria.
