Things To Do in Playa

If you’re thinking about extending your trip beyond Hotel Xcaret, either before or after the wedding, we highly recommend spending a few days in downtown Playa del Carmen to experience the local culture, food, and beaches beyond the resort. There are plenty of great options including boutique hotels, Airbnbs, and larger hotel chains. Our family has spent a lot of time here over the years, so we’ve gathered some of our favorite recommendations to help you enjoy the area like a local. Note: If you stay before you are able to arrive at Hotel Xcaret and start using all the amenities and restaurants at the resort the day of check in (as early as 8 am). Your room probably will not be available but they can hold your suitcases until your room is ready. Normal check in is 3 pm.
